Learning the impact that food has on our bodies has been one of the biggest ongoing lessons. What we eat impacts our moods, our cravings, our behaviours and our overall well being. I've learned that when I feed my body with home prepared nutritous food I lead a more balanced life. My moods stabalize, I'm more confident, I have more energy and of course I'm lighter.
I truly believe Yoga saved my soul. I can't even begin to imagine my journey without yoga. It is my go to resource when I'm down and my challenge when I'm in a good space. I love all types of yoga but especially hot yoga. I was fortunate enough to take the Hatha Yoga teacher training program which solidified my love for the practice. No matter where I go I always have yoga in my back pocket.
Exercise provides me with a level of confidence that I can only obtain by challenging myself and learning my abilities. Once I learned that a regular exercise routine was a necessity for me it changed my approach to how I live my life. Exercise helps me stay on track with nutrition and provides me with a new focus every day. I now plan my day around my workouts instead of trying to fit them in when I can.
I'm not just referring to relationship love. I'm talking Love in all of its forms. Love for your self, love for each other, love for the world we live in. Love is different for everyone but loving is healing. It heals ourselves and others and makes our world a kinder place to be.
Settling the monkey brain allows us to dig deep. It cuts through the stories we have been told and that we continue to tell ourselves, allowing our true spirit to shine through. It is in these moments I have found peace. I've been told that there is no suffering in the moment. Meditation helps to see this. When we stop our bodies and our minds and open ourselves to the moment we can clearly see that we are ok right there as we are.
To grow we must change, we must learn, we must challenge ourselves. This can come in the form of education, of conquering our fears or by simply reading. Striving to be our best is something I feel is important. Our best is different depending on the day. I have always believed that learning keeps us sharp and opens our world to new possibilities. So throw away the fears and start something new. Set a goal, try something different or pick up a book.
We are able to realign our thinking and to shut out negativity by being grateful. Gratitude is another tool at our disposable in any moment. If negativity breeds negativity then lets let positivity breed positivity. Always look on the bright side. Believe there is a silver lining. And know we are always exactly where we are suppossed to be. Be Grateful for this.
Most of the world tries to find purpose in their work or in their children or families. This is great if your true purpose aligns with how you choose to spend your days. Finding our true purpose is challenging in our society of pressures. Dig deep, don't be afraid to explore your purpose. Maybe the happy ending lies when all of the stars are aligned and we are living and doing what we intended.
Awareness is the first step. Becoming aware of anything - how we speak, how we love, how we deal with difficult people. All of this can provide us with insight. Stepping back and viewing ourselves from a third person allows us to reflect without judgement. We can also use this tool as we listen to others talk and we can then make sound choices.
